The exhibition titled “The Forgery Show” will soon be on view at Morris Adjmi Architects, New York.

The show features works by Art Roster Art Atelier, a group of Northern California artists who reside at the base of Mt. Shasta. These artists use techniques from the Old Masters atelier system of the great European academic and impressionistic painting schools of the 18th and 19th centuries, for example, that of Jacques-Louis David, as well as the more contemporary methods. The selection of works on display features 21 pieces for the exhibition. For a majority of the artists, color is essential and often explosive. But for “The Forgery Show” the use of color has been stripped away, leaving behind versatility, skill, and a sense of interest. Fourteen gallery artists will be featured in the show including Aleksander Balos, Dustin Bonivert, Leonard Brown, Karen Copsey, and Janet Crittenden, among others.

Morris Adjmi Architects are dedicated to displaying art that inspires and informs the architecture being made in the office. The buildings designed by Morris Adjmi Architects are shaped by the city, but at the same time evoke a deep appreciation for the arts. In the office, the staffs surround themselves with a rotating display of artworks. The firm is dedicated to sharing this work through regular exhibitions. This program began in 2015 with an exhibition of works by Italian Architect Aldo Rossi. He was a mentor to Morris Adjmi and former partner. Since then the program has continued featuring artist whose works range from refined minimalist compositions to colorful expressions of abstraction.

“The Forgery Show” runs from September 28 through December 22, 2017 at Morris Adjmi Architects, 60 Broad St, New York, NY 10003
